Microsoft makes the COFEE for some and now everyone can take a sip (actually not a sip but another same COFEE) of it.

Jokes apart, Microsoft Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor(COFEE) has leaked onto the web (Hot News).

Microsoft has created Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor (COFEE), designed exclusively for use by law enforcement agencies. COFEE brings together a number of common digital forensics capabilities into a fast, easy-to-use, automated tool for first responders. It collect digital evidence from suspect’s computers while they are running, without the investigating officer having to do much more than inserting a USB stick.

We understand the capability of this tool which is for good use. Now it is available for all, some disreputable parties may now have access to this tool which may assist them in their own criminal activities. One more major worry is; what about the bad guys? they can analyze this tool and write their own code to neutralize this tool.

In the end, this leak of tool online definitely going to make computer cops life more difficult when they try and dash-and-grab data from a suspicious PC.
