Personal Menu- Saves Screen Space in Firefox

Posted on April 16, 2009. Filed under: Web | Tags: , , , , |

This Firefox add-on compacts the menu bar behind a single icon, but it comes with so many options and customizations that it’s a thorough and arguably essential one-trick wonder. Personal Menu frees up screen real estate in much the same way that Google Chrome and Internet Explorer have banished their menus to drop-down status, but because you can alter nearly every aspect of its look and behavior, it’s an exceptionally useful add-on.

After installing Personal Menu, "Menus Toolbar" is available in Toolbar Context Menu, and you may hide it to save the space of browser. Then you may open Personal Menu Option panel to gather all useful commands into "Menu Button", and place it wherever you want; or you may add the items you want in Toolbar Context Menu. When Menus Toolbar is hidden, although you may add "Bookmarks" and "History" inside Menu Button, it become inconvenient to access them. Therefore, here are also "Bookmarks Button" and "History Button". You may also set what happens after you middle / right-click on them, like open Bookmarks Sidebar after middle-clicking Bookmarks Button, and Undo Close Tab after right-clicking History Button.

The reason to go with Personal Menu, though, is that it lets you heavily configure the menus that it hides. From Personal Menu’s Options menu, you can configure which menus appear behind the button, and in which order they’re listed. These choices aren’t limited to the standard File, Bookmarks, or Tools–any sub-menu from the main menus can be pulled out and added to the drop-down.

Firefox fans looking to make the most of their screens or make menus more useful will find this to be a must-have add-on.

             Thanks!!  Merci Chao

Customize Firefox look with AnyColor

Posted on April 9, 2009. Filed under: Web | Tags: , , , , , |

Now you can customize firefox web browser with AnyColor. AnyColor is an extension (add-on) for Firefox 3 and above that changes the browser looks without installing separate theme

The major benefits of the Any Color add-on besides the fact that the interface changes can be applied without restarting the web browser are the selection and preview of color themes as well as background images for the top and bottom of the web browser. Advanced users can also run so called appearance scripts that can change the web browser’s appearance dynamically.

  • Choose your own colors and preview them immediately.
  • Select background images for the top and bottom part of the browser’s main window.
  • Choose one of the built-in appearance presets or create your own.
  • Create “appearance scripts” and change the browser’s appearance using dynamically generated content. ..

Now you definitely want to play with firefox look. isn’t it? 😉
